I have this weird headcanon in which Canary loves Killua romantically, but she thinks she doesn’t deserve to have him, so she keeps pushing these feelings to the back of her heart and mind. Then, when she said that Killua would like the real personality of Amane she was actually thinking that Amane would make a good wife for Killua in the future (when he becomes old enough to think about it).
It breaks her inside, but she’s doing what she thinks that is the best for the person she loves the most.
Leorio is upset.
He kind of loves Kurapika.
Yeah, yeah. No big news here, since he loves Gon, Killua (he would never admit it out loud though) and all his friends too, but…
…Kurapika insists on holding a different place in his heart and it makes him almost disturbed.
Almost.
It didn’t really disturbed him, because Leorio is a straight man, so there’s nothing to worry about… Right?
Even though he is not sure about Kurapika’s sexuality, it doesn’t matter to him, because it wouldn’t change anything between them.
They were just friends.
It’s just he– Kurapika– Well… There’s something different with the way they act around each other. He was sure that their friendship wasn’t an usual friendship since the very beginning, but he didn’t notice it until that day.
Kurapika approached him. He had a serious expression, but then again… When Kurapika did not hold a serious expression? So, Leorio wasn’t uneasy. He knew Kurapika better and the boy wasn’t hostile right now. Then he waited. Kurapika was shorter than him (like almost everybody else Leorio ever met), but he didn’t take it as an opportunity to not look at Leorio’s face. The blond was bold. And it was captivating. “I almost missed you”, he said. Leorio was kind of waiting something like that… There was that thing in the air telling him Kurapika would say embarrassing stuff looking innocent and unashamed, so he wasn’t startled (maybe he was a little, but he choose to ignore it). “Thank you for… Hm… Not giving up. I know it’s not easy to get to talk to me”. His expression added something more. Maybe it was I know I’m not an easy person either or I missed you more than I’m saying I did, but Leorio wasn’t quite sure…Was it really important anyway? Well, not really. Then he hugged Kurapika because it was the only thing he wanted to do in months.
You see… There was some things quite different about this hug. Well, all those unnecessary parts of them touching was one of them. Also, Kurapika inhaled so deep that it looked like he was trying to keep Leorio’s scent inside his brain, but it was probably just Leorio’s imagination… Right? And Leorio deliberately placing his cheek next to Kurapika’s (they were actually touching) was kind of weird too, but… They were just friends that were really worried about each other. Friends that really missed each other. Friends that didn’t mind touching each other. Friends that still holding hands after a hug.
After that day, Leorio became aware of the smallest things in their friendship: 1. he noticed that unnecessary touches wasn’t new for them 2. they were always looking to each other’s face like it was something… precious 3. Kurapika was a jealous person. And he didn’t hide it (Leorio didn’t blame him, since he’s almost sure Kurapika doesn’t know that those mixed feelings - desire, anger, despair - have a name… and it’s jealousy) 4. Killua said it out loud (“you guys are always so weird… Specially– Uh… Nevermind”). He didn’t say anything else, but Leorio understood it perfectly.
All these signals may mean something, after all.
Maybe they were best friends.
Well, it’s the only explanation since Leorio is a straight man.
But he stills upset about Kurapika.
I’m sorry. That was crap, but I really need to get this out of my mind, lmao. Forgive me if it’s not well written, but my first language is Portuguese, so my vocabulary may lack (and also: grammar) :(

I just watched Hunter x Hunter ‘99 first episode.
It’s kinda slow paced and… Gon’s voice is way too mature, BUT STILL.

Nanika doesn’t see Killua as her older brother.
She loves him in a different way. A romantic way. Even though she’s young, she knows the difference between platonic love and what-I-feel-for-Killua love.
But it’s impossible.
She shares that body with Alluka, his real sister and he always refers to himself as “their older brother”. The way he looks at them says everything: Alluka or Nanika, it doesn’t matter. Both of you are my family. So, she plays the good imouto role…
